Arsenal star Thomas Partey set for potential move as Saudi Arabia’s PIF opens talks
Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) has reportedly begun discussions with Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey about a potential move to the Middle East in 2025.
The 31-year-old Ghanaian, a vital component of Mikel Arteta’s squad, is drawing significant interest from both Saudi and European clubs as his contract approaches its expiration.
Partey has been instrumental for Arsenal, helping the Gunners challenge reigning Premier League champions Manchester City last season.
This season, despite injury issues, Arsenal have continued their strong performance, including securing a recent 1-0 victory over Tottenham in the North London Derby and earning a thrilling draw against Manchester City.
Despite his crucial role, reports indicate that Partey’s time at Arsenal may be coming to an end. TEAMtalk suggests that Partey is “almost certain” to leave Arsenal when his contract expires in 2025, with no current discussions about a renewal.
Partey, who joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid for £45 million in 2020, has made 121 appearances for the club, scoring six goals and providing four assists.
PIF is reportedly keen to secure Partey’s services, with plans to negotiate a pre-contract agreement in January 2025, setting the stage for a free transfer later that year.
Juventus are also interested, but Saudi Arabia seems to be leading the chase.
