Ejisu by-election: NPP holds Parliamentary primary today

All is set for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to elect a parliamentary candidate for the Ejisu Constituency today, Saturday, April 13, 2024 following the demise of the Member of Parliament Dr. John Kumah on 7th March 2024.

Seven candidates are currently contesting to be elected as the parliamentary candidate to lead the party into 30th April 2024 by-election.

The candidates are lawyer Kwabena Boateng, Dr. Evans Duah, Klinsman Karikari Mensah, Helena Mensah, Jacqueline Abena Pokua Amoah Boaitey, Portia Barfo Abronye, lawyer Kwasi Nyantakyi, Aaron Prince Duah and Yaa Akyawmaa Aboagye.

Dr. Evans Duah in an interview with GHOne News ahead of the election called on the Ejisu delegates to elect him as parliamentary candidate to win the by-election and replace the late Ejisu MP in parliament.

He said he intends to create one million job opportunities in the constituency in fulfillment of the late MP’s vision.

Helena Mensah Presiding Member for the Ejisu Municipal Assembly who was busy campaigning for delegates to give her the opportunity by electing her told GHOne News she has the connections to position Ejisu constituency well in managing unemployment.

Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Lawyer Kwasi Nyantakyi who is confident of winning the primary against 8 other candidates says his vision is to make Ejisu constituency one of the best by empowering the youth and women in particular.

Abena Pokua Amoah Boaitey who is contesting the Ejisu Parliamentary primary for the 4th time expressed confidence of being elected as parliamentary candidate.

Aaron Prince Duah on his part is urging the delegates in the constituency to vote for a grass root person who knows the constituency very well.

A total of 1080 delegates are expected to vote in the election.
