Police pursue gunmen who killed 2 off-duty officers at Trasacco

The Ghana Police Service has started a manhunt for two gunmen who allegedly shot and killed two off-duty policemen at East Trasacco in Accra today, Thursday, May 2.

In a post on its Facebook page on Thursday evening, the Police said the shooting occurred around 6:00 pm.

According to the police statement, the gunmen “did not take anything from the victims and sped off on a motorbike.”

The statement added “An intelligence-led operation to get the suspects arrested is currently ongoing.”

This incident follows the killing of a military officer, Lance Corporal (L/Cpl) Danso Michael three days ago at Kasoa Millennium City in the Central Region over a land dispute.

According to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) it is collaborating with the Ghana Police Service to investigate the tragic death of the soldier.

Meanwhile, one individual said to be a chief has been arrested in connection with the killing.
