Minority demands probe into medical credentials of Ann Sansa Daly

The Minority Caucus in Parliament has given the Ghana Medical and Dental Council (GMDC) a one-week ultimatum to clarify the medical registration status of Ann Sansa Daly.
This demand comes in the wake of President John Dramani Mahama’s revocation of Sansa Daly’s appointment as a Board Member of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), following public concerns over her professional credentials.
In a letter signed by the Ranking Member on the Health Committee, Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie, the Minority is calling on the GMDC to engage its counterpart agency in the United States to verify whether Sansa Daly is listed on their registry of certified medical practitioners.
The Minority is seeking clarity on three critical points:
- Whether Dr. Ann Sansa Daly is currently registered and licensed by the GMDC to practise medicine in Ghana.Ghanaian food recipes
- Whether she has ever been registered with the GMDC in any capacity, including temporary or permanent registration.
- Whether GMDC regulations permit unregistered individuals to present themselves publicly as medical doctors or offer medical advice in Ghana.
The Caucus emphasised that their inquiry is rooted in public interest and aimed at upholding professional standards and protecting public trust in Ghana’s healthcare system.
