Movement For Change Govt will scrap import duties in its first two years – Alan

Leader of the Movement for Change, Alan Kyeremanten has promised his government will in the first two years of his tenure scrap all import duties and taxes on spare parts .

According to the Presidential hopeful, this initiative will in turn alleviate the economic plight of Ghanaians.

He made this known while assuring traders of Kokompe in Takoradi.

High import duties and taxes has been a major concern for spare part dealers, garages and transport owners across the country.

Spare parts dealers have expressed their dissatisfaction with the government, citing concerns about the adverse impact of newly implemented taxes on their businesses.

The snow ball effect of this has caused incessant increase in transport fares and cost of doing business.

Engaging with garage owners and traders at Kokompe in Takoradi, the leader of the Movement of Change, promised that within the first two years of his government, all taxes and import duties on spare parts will be scrapped.

He further intimated while the two main political parties, NPP and NDC, have focused on the progress of their parties other the country’s, his government’s commitment will be to Ghana first.
